RF Lesion Generators - LG1, LG2 & LG4
Radiofrequency thermolesion enables the elimination or considerable reduction of chronic pain, allowing the body to recover through self-healing. The LG1, LG2, and LG4 give every centre, from a single treatment room to a full OR, the right generator for its volume and complexity.

Benefits
Why clinicians choose the RF Lesion Generator family.
-
Superior, Reproducible Lesions
The LG4's 100 W output ensures a well-formed lesion at every target, reducing procedure variability. The LG1/LG2 deliver precise temperature- and power-controlled output matched to each patient's anatomy. -
Enhanced Patient Safety
Neutral Electrode Contact Quality Monitoring, present across all three models, continuously verifies electrode placement and protects patients from skin burns, backed by continuous impedance and temperature monitoring. -
Maximum Clinical Versatility
1, 2, or 4 independent channels with monopolar, bipolar, and mixed configurations plus multiple RF modes cover the full spectrum of pain interventions and, on the LG1/LG2, stereotactic brain lesion procedures. -
Streamlined Procedure Execution
Touchscreen, remote control, and — on the LG4 — foot switch and pre-saved application profiles cut setup time and cognitive load in busy pain clinics and ORs. -
Real-Time Feedback
Audio impedance feedback and direct motor/sensory nerve stimulation let the clinician confirm target and electrode position without diverting visual attention. -
Complete Case Records
The LG4 adds a built-in patient database, USB export of detailed treatment protocols, and a screenshot function for medico-legal records and outcome tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from pain specialists, neurosurgeons, and procurement teams about the LG1 & LG2 RF Lesion Generator.
What is the inomed RF Lesion Generator family and what is it used for?
The LG1, LG2, and LG4 are radiofrequency lesion generators by Inomed Medizintechnik GmbH, manufactured in India by VCSmed India. They are used for radiofrequency thermolesion and pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) treatment of chronic pain, and — on the LG1/LG2 — stereotactic brain lesion procedures. Applications include trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, facet joint ablation (lumbar, thoracic, cervical), dorsal root ganglion (DRG) treatment, sacroiliac joint pain, knee, shoulder, hip, and heel spur. All models are certified for brain and pain applications.
What is the difference between the LG1, LG2, and LG4?
The LG1 (Art. No. 261 000) is a single-channel RF generator. The LG2 (Art. No. 262 000) is a 2-channel version that additionally allows two monopolar electrodes to be combined for bipolar RF application. The LG4 (Art. No. 07-CR2020G) is the advanced 4-channel model with up to 4 independent monopolar channels or 1 bipolar channel, 100 W output, swipe-gesture touchscreen, foot switch control, USB data export, and a built-in patient database. All three share the same core clinical quality: continuous and pulsed RF modes, monopolar and bipolar support, neutral electrode monitoring, temperature and impedance monitoring, and remote control.
How many channels does each model have and can they be set independently?
The LG1 has 1 channel. The LG2 has 2 channels, which can also be combined as a single bipolar pair. The LG4 has 4 channels, supporting up to 4 monopolar channels or 1 bipolar channel, each independently configurable — enabling simultaneous, personalised lesioning across multiple targets. LG4 lesion configurations include: full monopolar (1,2,3,4), mixed monopolar/bipolar (1;2+3;4), monopolar as bipolar (1+2;3+4), and full bipolar (1 channel).
What is Neutral Electrode Contact Quality Monitoring (NEM / NECQM)?
Neutral Electrode Contact Quality Monitoring is a safety feature built into all three generators that continuously checks whether the neutral (return) electrode has optimal contact with the patient’s skin throughout the RF procedure. If contact quality drops below the safe threshold, the system alerts the clinician, minimising the risk of electrical burns at the return electrode site.
What radiofrequency modes are supported?
All models support continuous RF (temperature-controlled and power-controlled) and pulsed RF (PRF). The LG4 additionally offers a step mode for continuous RF and pulse-width-controlled pulsed RF. This flexibility lets the clinician choose thermal lesioning for permanent ablation, or pulsed RF for nerve modulation without destruction — for targets such as dorsal root ganglion (DRG) treatment.
How can the generators be controlled during a procedure?
All models offer touchscreen control and a remote control for operation outside the sterile field. The LG4 additionally supports a foot switch (Art. No. 07-BE1023B, 2 m cable, 3 buttons) for fully hands-free operation, alongside its own remote control (Art. No. 07-BE1022A, 2.5 m cable, 4 buttons).
What accessories are compatible with the RF Lesion Generator family?
For pain treatment (LG1/LG2), RF cannulas (straight, curved, or for trigeminal neuralgia; 50–150 mm, 17–22 G, 2–15 mm active tip) and TC pain electrodes (reusable up to 30 times or disposable) are available. For brain lesion procedures, TC brain electrodes compatible with RM, ZD, and Leksell stereotactic frames are available in monopolar and bipolar configurations, reusable up to 30 times. The LG4 has its own accessory portfolio, including remote control, foot switch, test plug, trolley, and multiple TC connection cables (SuperLight, Lemosa, and single-use electrode variants).
Are the RF Lesion Generators available in India?
Yes. All three models are manufactured and assembled in India by VCSmed India Private Limited, located at No. 5, Ariyalur Village, Madhavaram Taluk, Chennai – 600 060, Tamil Nadu. They are designed and developed by inomed Medizintechnik GmbH, Im Hausgruen 29, 79312 Emmendingen, Germany. Contact VCSmed India at www.vcsmedindia.com for pricing, demonstrations, and support.
